Garment Care

Garment Care - How to look after your Where Does It Come From? garment

Taking good care of your garment is the best way to ensure that it lives a long and happy life!  Your garment has been created using natural fibres and often by hand.  If you look closely you may see slight variations in the fabric which makes yours unique.

Washing – We recommend that you wash at 30 degrees or below.  Not only is this better for the environment but it also prevents garment shrinkage (the cotton has been pre-shrunk) or dyes running – especially in block printed garments.   We recommend that you wash darker colours together, especially for the first few washes.  For white garments with a dark trim we recommend that you wash these on a cold wash for the first few times.

Drying – We recommend that our garments are line dried, it’s better for the environment and the clothes.  However try not to hang out in direct sunlight over long periods as this can cause colour fade, especially for garments dyed with natural dyes.  If you must use a tumble drier then keep it to a low setting.  Any slight shrinkage caused by overheating should loosen when the garment is worn.

Ironing – We recommend ironing with your iron set to a low to medium heat.  Ironing block printed fabrics inside out will protect the pattern.

We really hope you enjoy your garment for years to come!
