Talking Plastics in Clothing on BBC Suffolk

plastics in clothing

Did you know that over 50% of clothing sold by major fast fashion brands is made of virgin plastic?

A report out on Friday 11th June into plastics in clothing shared a study by the RSA into top brands Boohoo, Asos and others, examining 10,000 items for sale online. Friends of the Earth have estimated the amount of plastic in new textiles as 64%.

Our founder Jo Salter was invited onto BBC Radio Suffolk to discuss the newspaper coverage – you can listen to the conversation

Key points discussed included:
– How to use your clothing labels to check for plastics in clothing
– Why plastic in our clothes is not good for us or the planet
– What needs to change and how that could be done
